AIMEE MUTH, LCSW
WELCOME
I’m Aimée Muth, a licensed therapist with a private psychotherapy practice in Old Greenwich, CT. With nearly 20 years experience as a clinical social worker, I have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in medical and mental health settings.
I believe the relationship between a therapist and client is critical to the therapeutic process and should always be client centered. I want you to feel safe knowing you can confide in me about anything – trauma, addiction, grief, fears, relationship issues- and we will work through it together.
To build this trust, I use different treatment modalities to meet your needs. I am interactive and ask a lot of questions to get to know and understand you and your experience. I help you interpret the information you give me to understand what is motivating your actions and response to situations. Through this process, you can find peace and happiness again.
EXPERIENCE
After graduating from Columbia University School of Social Work, I worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital in various adult and pediatric in-patient and out-patient settings with a concentration in end stage organ failure, oncology and transplant. Chronic illness can put significant stress on an individual and family system which can lead to many feelings including isolation, depression, anxiety, loss and, sometimes, substance misuse and addiction. Both in private practice and at NYP, I have worked with individuals and caregivers to address these issues and many more.
